Bi Phota and village meal

Bi Phota is a ceremony to cement relationships between brothers and sisters. Here Rosie receives the sandalwood tika which protects her from all curses and gives her long life. She also takes the holy prasad, a blessed sweet.
This ceremony was performed for all of us by the village families in gratitude for the service we are  providing for them.
Afterwards we were treated to to delicious home cooked village food which we ate in traditional Indian style using our right hands.
