Despite hearing all the stories about Kolkata it was far more different than I ever expected. When We arrived it was a lot more modern than I expected. The roads were packed with cars and busses and there were plenty of shops. The only noticeable differences were the toilets (which were basically holes in the ground) and the fact that there seemed to be no road rules.
Jharkhali however is like nothing I have ever seen before. You would expect the kids to be weak and mopey but they are in fact the happiest kids you will ever find.
I am currently writing this in the sun looking onto a field with very little grass watching lots of Indian children playing football in their bare feet.
