Lovely Lanchimpur

This morning early we went to Lanchimpur where our current 6th years worked in 2010. As we walked the pretty country paths up from the beach we passed by fields of ripening rice with people reaping and thrashing. (see photo with Konrad taking a picture).
As we drew closer people came out to greet us and children hurriedly pulling on their uniforms ran after us screeching with delight.
Around the last corner of the picturesque boreen and beyond the great Banyan tree Lanchimpur school smiled at us in the early morning light.
With racing hearts we ran the last few yards to find staff preparing for the new school day.
We took our photos and resisted invitations to wait for the rest of the teachers and pupils.
On the way back to our Tata Suomo transport we stopped at our old friends, Sumit and Ramitra's to sup tea with them a while, reminisce and talk about improvements in the area and the new hope our school had brought.
