Temples By Emmet Kiberd

A few days ago we visited the temples of the Rama Krishna religion at Belur Math. We took a twenty minute boat ride on the Hooghly, one of the filthiest rivers in the world, and then waited outside the temple for just as long, packed into the crowd like the scruffy, piebald chickens in their cages at a nearby stall.
